You know the old Wall Street saying that the bulls can make money, the bears can make money, but the pigs or the hogs always end up getting slaughtered. Why do the pigs get slaughtered? It is because the pigs try to squeeze the last penny out of every trade attempting to make a killing and end up getting killed, whereas the bulls and the bears know when to take money off the table and end up able to live to trade another day.
A well known hedge fund trader was once asked how he made so much money in the stock market. His answer, “Because I always sold too early.” When the market is not providing a noticeable, long term trend the bulls and the bears have to take their turn quickly and precisely while being careful not to fall into the pigsty.
We crosshairs traders know that now is the time to have trades lined up on both sides of the pigsty. The bears may continue or the bulls may take over but one thing is for certain, we will not get stuck in the middle.
