OCTOBER 2009 BATTLES IN THE CROSSHAIRS

The OCTOBER 2009 trading results of my computer generated RadarScreen follows.  I am not particularly fond of mechanical trading but who am I to judge how others choose to trade?  I prefer the discretionary approach based on other factors besides a signal generated by a computer program.  That is just me.  Most of these trades would have never made it to my discretionary screening.  And there are several discretionary trades that were never triggered in the RadarScreen.  Go figure!?!  With proper money management and discipline to enter and exit trades a disciplined trader can make money with a mechanical system, mine or otherwise.  It is all up to the individual.  This is really an experiment for me as I compete against the computer. My discretionary numbers are also listed below and are few in number.  I am very picky about my trades as you can tell. If you are a day trader my discretionary trading is not for you.  If, however, you like the freedom that comes with position/swing trading…now that is another story!

THE ABOVE REPRESENT ALL TRIGGERED TRADES THAT WERE OPENED AND CLOSED DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, 2009. CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS FROM OCTOBER ARE LISTED IN BLACK AND HAVE NOT CLOSED AT THE TIME OF THIS POST.

1 As with any trading strategy, the performance and ultimate win/loss ratio, % gains/losses, etc. will be based on the individual and his/her loss and profit targets, which will vary from trader to trader. For that very reason no two traders’ results would be the same. Commissions and slippage are not factored in; neither is the difference between trading the equity versus the options, wherein the percentages could be different. These numbers do not mean anything other than to provide the computer generated results of high probability trading opportunities based on the CROSSHAIRS TRADING© parameters that have been coded into the TradeStation “RadarScreen” platform . It is ultimately up to the individual to determine the risk/reward of trading a mechanical system.

Because this screen is computer generated, there are many trades that I will make without the aid of this model. I choose to use further discretion, including but not limited to general market factors, before making a final decision to enter a trade. These factors are outlined in various articles on my blog and in my one-on-one CROSSHAIRS TRADING© training. These factors are also incorporated into the GOLD MEMBERSHIP package available on my site.

Current month stats and current computer generated trades are available in the SILVER MEMBERSHIP package, also available on my site.
